Grandparents and rain!

Sorry for the lack of posts! My grandparents came for a visit and I hadn’t had time to post while they were here. We had a fun and interesting visit. I got my grandmother (referred to as Gran) to play Trav-E-Log of Christ with me, which is the Bible game my grandfather (referred to as Pap) brought down to us.

Pap and I also played the game while they were here, and I actually won! I can’t believe it. He beat me by a mile before, but I actually beat him this time! I guess it pays to keep playing the game by yourself so I could learn and remember the answers. It was fun though. :)

I played my psaltery for Gran, well, I just continued to practice it every day, and she enjoyed it. She and Mom agree that I am getting better. I wish there was some way I could record one of the songs or two in the computer so I could post it, but I don’t think I can do that without a microphone plugged in or something like that.

Anyway, it rained yesterday. It filled up our big waterhole in the front yard, which is about 4 ft deep. It only rained an inch and three quarters! I had Lighty (our old female duck) down in it yesterday while the rain was only misting, so she could get a good bath. I think she really enjoyed it!! After a few minutes she had decided she’d had enough though, and swam out of it, so I took her back to the barnyard.
Then we let Gabriel out, and he was pawing at it, barking, and running around it. LOL. He did actually accidentally fall in, though, and scared himself because he had slipped and had to swim to get out.

Last night it started storming pretty bad around 3 AM, so we all had to get up and shut down and unplug out computers, so the lightning didn’t hit them or something. That lightning lit up my room better than a florescent (spelling?) lightbulb. :D

I haven’t gotten any pictures of the flower garden or waterhole yet, I guess I haven’t felt like toting my half-working camera down there. I did get a good picture or two of the skirt I sewed for the little girl I babysit.

Here I’ve got a full picture of the skirt, and a close up of the hem. Unfortunately, she hasn’t been up for me to babysit lately so she hasn’t gotten to wear it yet. I’ll be sure to get pictures when she does!!

Oh, Levi and I waded in the waterhole today. At the highest point it was only about half way up my stomach! Anyway we had fun. It was pretty cold at first until you got used to it, and boy was it muddy on the bottom! I kept sliding, I guess I was lucky I didn’t slip and fall under.. LOL. And, Gabriel fell in again today. He can swim fine, I think he’s just kind of scared because he can’t see the bottom. I’m not kidding, the water looks like a light colored chocolate milk. :P

Sorry for the long post, I guess this is a good enough summary of the last few days. :D
